Terms and conditions for the Draw Your Own Chitty competition


Please read these competition rules carefully. If you enter this competition, we will assume that you have read these competition rules and agree to them.

1. To enter this competition you must be a resident of the UK and Eire.
2. This competition is not open to employees (or members of their immediate families) of Macmillan, Macmillan Ltd or any subsidiary of Macmillan Ltd.
3. Please ask permission from a parent or guardian and seek the permission of the person paying the bill before entering.
4. No purchase necessary.
5. Only one entry per person.
6. The instructions for entry contained in the adverts publicizing this competition form part of the competition rules.
7. Sending a postal entry or an email is no proof that we have received your entry. No responsibility can be accepted for entries that are lost or delayed or which are unable to be sent for any reason.
8. Any personal information (entrant's name, date of birth, email address and address) will be used solely in connection with this competition and will not be disclosed to any third party, except for the purpose of fulfilling the prize where applicable. Any personal information held by the Promoter in respect of the competition will be held on record for a short period for the purpose of ensuring fulfilment of the competition.
9. The winners will be the entrants whose entries are selected by the judges.
10. The closing date for the competition is 31st December 2011, and the winners will be decided on 5th January 2012.
11. If you win the competition, we will notify you by post or by email on 5th January 2012. The judges' decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
12. Prizes should be received within twenty one (21) days of the closing date.
13. In the event that the Promoter cannot for any reason contact the winner by Friday 10th January 2012 (10 working days after the closing date) the promoter reserves the right to draw another winner.
14. You can find out who won by sending a stamped addressed envelope to Chitty Flies Again, Marketing Department, Macmillan Children's Books, 20 New Wharf Road, London N1 9RR after 10th January 2012.
15. The panel of judges will be comprised of the Managing Director of Macmillan Children's Books and the Editorial Director of Macmillan Children's Books.
16. The prize is the winning drawing turned into a book cover, it will be printed, framed and signed by Frank Cottrell Boyce. You will also receive a copy of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Flies Again. 10 runners up will win a copy of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Flies Again.
17. No part of the prize is exchangeable for cash or any other prize, although if the advertised prize is not available, we reserve the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value. The prize is subject to the additional terms and conditions of the manufacturer and/or supplier.
18. Incorrectly completed entries will be disqualified.
19. By entering the competition, the winners of any prize agree to participate in such promotional activities and feature in such promotional material as Macmillan may require. 20. If you win the competition you may be asked to provide proof of your date of birth. 21. This competition is being run by Pan Macmillan Ltd of Brunel Road, Houndmills, Basingstoke, Hampshire ("Macmillan") the Promoter.
22. These competition Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and constructed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any disputes arising there from.
23. Macmillan reserves the right to amend these rules at any time. If we do, we will put the amended rules up at www.chittyfliesagain.com.
